A growing Kashmiri hospitality brand
The Countryside began with one small property and a simple idea: that Kashmir deserved hotels as considered as its landscape.
Our story
From one guest house to four retreats
What started as a modest family-run guest house has grown into four properties across the valley — in Srinagar beside the Dal, in Pahalgam among the pines, in Gulmarg below the gondola and in Aharbal beside the waterfall.
Each property is built and run by the same team, to the same standard. We keep them deliberately mid-sized so that housekeeping stays immaculate, the kitchen stays honest and no guest becomes a room number.
We work directly with local artisans for our walnut furniture and papier-mâché detail, source vegetables and trout from nearby growers, and employ from the communities around each site.

Local produce, local crafts, local guides. We build our stays around what Kashmir already does beautifully.

Questions guests ask us
- What meal plans do you offer?
- We offer EP (room only), CP (breakfast), MAP (breakfast and dinner) and MAPAI (breakfast, lunch and dinner). Meal plans can be chosen during booking.
- Which property is best for families?
- The Countryside Resorts Pahalgam and The Countryside Resorts & Spa Srinagar are our most family-friendly properties, with family rooms, lawns and kid-friendly menus.
- Which property is closest to the Gulmarg Gondola?
- The Countryside Gulmarg is a few minutes from the Gondola base station and the golf course.
- Do you arrange airport transfers?
- Yes. Transfers from Srinagar International Airport can be arranged for all four properties — just add the request during booking or message us on WhatsApp.
- What is your cancellation policy?
- Standard bookings can be cancelled free of charge up to 7 days before arrival. Offer and festival-period rates may carry different conditions, shown at the time of booking.
